Earning the Stanford Genetics and Genomics Certificate
You have the flexibility of taking individual courses within this program, or, to earn the certificate complete the two required courses and your choice of 4 elective courses. The certificate demonstrates mastery of genetics content as outlined in the certificate.

An approved application is required to enroll in any of the Stanford Genetics and Genomics courses to ensure you have the experience needed to benefit from the program. The prerequisites are:
- A minimum of 5 years of work experience, preferably in a science related field.
- At minimum of a bachelor's degree, or its equivalent, from an accredited institution, with a minimum 3.0 GPA, or its equivalent.
- A High School level, or its equivalent, knowledge of biology and chemistry.
- Applicants must show an investigative and scientific spirit.
Each application will be evaluated as a whole, taking into consideration both the candidate's academic and professional experience. If you do not have all of the prerequisites, but still wish to be considered for the program, we encourage you to submit your application.
