This workshop provides faculty and lecturers with a collaborative environment in which to design a new course or modify an existing course to optimize for student engagement and learning. This two-hour workshop will introduce the principles covered in greater depth in the multi-day Course Design Institute (CDI) offered in early September. This workshop is perfect for those who are new to designing courses, including instructors unable to participate in CDI.
You will learn
1) How to use backward course design
2) How to articulate and evaluate a subset of learning outcomes
3) How to generate an assessment and associated learning experience that aligns with one of your learning outcomes
