  • Converting Strategy Into Action

    As a core course from the Stanford Advanced Project Management certificate program, Converting Strategy into Action provides the conceptual framework for all of the other courses in the program, introducing proven approaches and emerging concepts for aligning an organization's project and program initiatives with its strategic objectives.

    Leadership for Strategic Execution

    This course, from the Stanford Advanced Project Management certificate program, addresses the key leadership challenges facing those with responsibility for executing their company's strategies through organizational change and portfolio, program, and project implementation. The course focuses on those skills and competencies that leaders require for guiding their organizations, in addition to offering innovative tools for engaging others in meaningful collaboration.

    Financial Mastery for Projects

    One of several courses from the Stanford Advanced Project Management certificate program, Financial Mastery for Projects is designed specifically for non-financial managers. You'll learn how a project's performance affects revenue recognition, profitability, and cash flow for the organization as a whole. You'll also be prepared to communicate more confidently about the economic value of projects throughout their lifecycle.

    In this session led by Bob Woods, you’ll delve deeper into key financial management techniques, and see how they add value at the enterprise level—from the management, stockholder, bondholder, and employee perspective.

    The Cardiovascular System in Health & Disease:
    Fundamentals for the Medical Device Industry

    The Cardiovascular System short course provides interdisciplinary education specifically designed for industry professionals and is now delivered online via streaming video. It is the only course of its kind, offering a combination of engineering and medical principles, and crystallizing key components of the university's cardiovascular bioengineering program in lectures.

    In this session Charles A. Taylor, Ph.D offers an overview of the learning objectives of the course and a preview of the lectures and laboratories.

    Stanford Biodesign:
    From the Innovators’ Workbench

    “From the Innovators’ Workbench” was conceived and captured by Stanford Biodesign, in partnership with LMA Film and Video. Now in its third year, this series evolved from the highly-recognized, interdisciplinary Stanford Innovation Program. Directed by Dr. Paul Yock and Dr. Josh Makower, cutting-edge educators of biomedical technology, these interviews provide keen insights into the minds of inventors and companies propelling medical technology today.

    Hosted by David Cassak, Managing Partner of Windover Information, each interview delves into the rich accounts of the inventors' personal stories. In this session, Cassak interviews Thomas Fogarty, a specialist whose creative talents have impacted many diverse professional and entrepreneurial arenas.

    Nanoscience and Nanotechnology

    The Nanoscience and Nanotechnology short course covers a broad range of topics and emerging applications with potentially significant impact for the materials, manufacturing, semiconductor electronics, photonics, data storage and life science industries. These online courses offer a great opportunity to learn from Stanford faculty and industry experts, the fundamentals of nanoscience.

    In this session, Assembly Required: Atomic and Molecular Manipulation, Hari Manoharan, Ph.D., explores the “bottom-up” approach of atomic and molecular manipulation and its application to problems in science & technology.
