Graduate study in Mechanical Engineering can be undertaken on a part-time basis through the SCPD HCP program. The SCPD enables Honors Cooperative Program (HCP) students in member companies to complete courses through distance learning technologies. When courses of interest are not available through distance learning, HCP students can come to campus to class. To participate, you must apply to and be admitted to the Mechanical Engineering graduate program. Degree and admissions requirements, with deadlines, may be found on the Mechanical Engineering Web site.

MSME degree students with interest in the following ME areas of specialization may complete degree requirements entirely through distance learning.

• Automatic Controls
• Design for Manufacturability
• Design Methodology
• Solid Mechanics

Non Degree Option (NDO) students interested in topics of study in Mechanical Engineering should review the ME certificate programs and the Product Creation and Innovative Manufacturing certificate program.
