Graduate study in Computer Science can be undertaken on a part-time basis through the SCPD HCP program. The SCPD enables HCP students in member companies to complete courses through distance learning technologies. When courses of interest are not available through distance learning, HCP students can come to campus to class. To participate, you must apply to and be admitted to the Computer Science graduate program. Degree and admissions requirements, with deadlines, may be found on the Computer Science Web site.

MSCS degree students with interest in the following CS areas of specialization may complete degree requirements entirely through distance learning.

  • Systems

While many course requirements can be completed at a distance, MSCS degree students with interest in the following CS areas of specialization will need to come to campus to complete requirements in these areas.

  • Numerical Analysis/Scientific Computation
  • Software Theory
  • Theoretical Computer Science
  • Artificial Intelligence
  • Human-Computer Interaction
  • Real-World Computing
(Students who are interested in Databases and seeking to complete the degree at a distance can major in Systems, selecting a course of study emphasizing database content.)

Non Degree Option (NDO) students interested in these areas of study should review the Computer Science certificate programs.

See CS Course Advisor for curriculum related questions.
