The Department of Aeronautics and Astronautics offers a number of certificate programs to Non Degree Option (NDO) students. Each program has specific requirements for completion. The certificate will be awarded upon successful completion of certificate course requirements with a letter grade indicator of 3.0 or better.

Spacecraft Design and Operation Proficiency

This special certificate program is offered by arrangement only. The core course series, Spacecraft Design, provides a formal overview of developing a space mission using a small satellite, followed by hands-on laboratories where student teams design, build, test, and launch a real satellite that can perform a space mission. The program is intended for engineers and technical managers, with at least a bachelor's degree in mathematics, physics or engineering, who seek an intensive experience in spacecraft design. This certificate program requires the completion of the four required courses with a letter grade indicator of 3.0 or better.

How to Enroll
Certificate seekers may begin the program in the autumn, winter or spring quarter under the Non Degree Option by completing an online enrollment application. First time students must also provide transcripts from all previous colleges and universities. Those who wish to update their skills and stay current in their field without seeking graduate credit may enroll under the Audit Option. Tuition information.
