The Non Degree Option (NDO) allows working professionals the opportunity to enroll in Stanford courses, earning grades and academic credit, without matriculating as regular Stanford graduate students. Courses are made available to NDO students exclusively via distance learning technologies.

As a NDO student, you study virtually along side the on campus students and are expected to undertake the course fully. You will receive all course materials, do the same coursework and homework, and take examinations as the on campus students, receiving grades and quarter unit credit for completed coursework.

Working professionals may also enroll as an Audit Student in Stanford credit courses without receiving a grade or academic credit.

To enroll in a course as a NDO student, you must submit an application for enrollment, which is reviewed and approved by the department offering the course.

To enroll as an Audit student, you must submit an application for enrollment.
