The certificate program is tailored to educators and others dedicated to improving the lives and skills of young people. It is based on the conviction that good decision making is an essential life skill that can be taught effectively.

Better Decisions – Better Lives

Every day, young people make decisions that shape their lives. Many act without fully considering their options. Decision skills help young people make quality decisions that enable them to be more likely to succeed academically and personally.

Learn powerful approaches to:

  • Incorporate decision education into an existing curriculum
  • Shape school or organization direction and success
  • Increase administrative ability to make key organizational decisions
Learn how to:
  • Identify and teach the essential elements of a good decision
  • Work on the right problem, in the right way, with the right people
  • Achieve decision quality
  • Make good decisions under pressure
  • Avoid the behaviors and biases that interfere with good decision making
  • Teach decision skills separately or as part of an existing curriculum
  • Motivate young people to learn and use good decision skills
  • Create and deliver decision skills curricula to students.

Earn the Certificate:

Participants have the flexibility of taking individual courses within the program or earning a Strategic Decision and Risk Management Certificate with an Emphasis in Decision Education.

For planning purposes, we have also indicated which courses will be available via Stanford Online. Each campus course is 2 ˝ days. This schedule allows participants to take two courses in one week.

Continuing Education Units

  • You may elect to receive Continuing Education Units (CEU's) for an additional $75 processing fee per course. Please mention this option when you register if you would like to earn Continuing Education Units

Cancelation Policy

To receive a full refund, please notify us in writing no later than 3 weeks prior to the start of the course. Once the cancellation deadline has passed, you will not receive a refund, but you may send a qualified substitute in your place. We reserve the right to cancel or reschedule the courses. If the course is not held, our liability is limited to the registration and CEU fees only. For more on cancellation and other policies, please see our SDRM Policies.
