How and when do I get my CEU's
Do I qualify for this program?
There are no specific prerequisites, although the program is meant for IT professionals, managers, CIOs, and CFOs in financial services, consulting services, and IT management interested in implementing benchmarking within their organization.
How many Continuing Education Units (CEU's) can I earn for this program?
The entire program earns 1 CEU. If you require a Stanford transcript, you should select CEU's upon registration
Can I earn a Professional Development Certificate for this program?
Yes. The Certificate is signed by the Associate Dean of the School of Engineering and the instructor, and is awarded to participants as confirmation that they have passed all exams and completed the project in addition to submitting an evaluation.
How do I earn a Professional Development Certificate for this program?
You must view all 5 modules, pass each exam with 100% accuracy, complete the IT Project, and fill out module evaluations in order to earn the “Stanford IT Benchmarking Professional Development Certificate".
Are there reading materials associated with this program?
All required materials are available online.
Am I required to take an exam to complete this program?
Yes. There is a 5-question, multiple-choice exam after each module. Each exam must be passed with 100% accuracy.
Will I have to do homework in order to complete this program?
Yes, there is a project that must be completed at the end of the program in order to earn the “Stanford IT Benchmarking Professional Development Certificate”.
How long does this program take to finish?
There is ~190 minutes of video material and ~6 hours of additional work to complete the exams and the project.
Is there interaction with the professor/lecturers?
There is no direct interaction with the professor/lecturers.
How are the exams graded and submitted?
The multiple-choice exams are taken online and instantaneous grading is provided upon submission.
How is the project graded and submitted?
The project is submitted via email to proed_reg@scpdinfo.stanford.edu and is graded in the Computer Science department. Feedback is provided via email.
Is this program available on the Stanford campus?
Not at this time.
Do I have to be a member to take a Pro Ed course?
No.

We do not offer scholarships. Group discounts can be arranged by contacting 650.725.9200.
When can I start? When do the classes start?
At any time.
Do I have to take this course at a specific time? When is it available?
Available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
How long do I have to complete the course?
Once you have enrolled you will be given an username & password that will give you access to the course for 90 days.
What happens if I don't complete the course on time?
If you do not finish the course within the 90 day time frame, you may request 1 30-day extension for free. After that, you will be charged an administrative fee for extensions.
Can I share access with a friend?
No. Passwords are confidential and unchangeable. Passwords are for individual use only; sharing access is prohibited and violates the purchase agreement. All of the materials for this program are copyright protected and owned by Stanford University. Reproduction of any kind is prohibited.
What are CEU's?
Continuing Education Units (CEU's). 10 hours of class work equals 1 CEU. If you require a transcript from the University, you will need to register for CEU's. CEU''s are not available for any class that is less than 10 hours in length.
Why am I charged $75 for CEU's?
This is a processing fee charged to SCPD by the central University to grant CEU's.
How and when do I get my CEU's?
CEU's are requested ONLY AFTER you have completed your course. Please send email to proed@scpdinfo.stanford.edu upon c ourse completion. Since CEU's are processed quarterly, you should wait until 2 weeks after the start of the next academic quarter to request a transcript from the University.
