Stanford Management Science and Engineering (MS&E) provides education and research opportunities associated with the development of knowledge, tools, and methods required to make decisions and to shape policies, to configure organizational structures, to design engineering systems, and to solve problems associated with the information-intensive technology based economy. The academic excellence and entrepreneurial spirit of Stanford MS&E is extended to students in industry through courses and programs delivered online, on campus and on site by the Stanford Center for Professional Development.

View MS&E MS Degree Program.
Graduate degree study can be undertaken on a part-time basis through the SCPD Honors Cooperative Program (HCP). Students must be admitted as Stanford University graduate students through the regular admissions process. MS&E master’s degree tracks where HCP students may meet degree requirements completely at a distance include:
Decision Analysis and Risk Analysis
Economics and Finance
Information Science and Technology
Organizations, Technology and Entrepreneurship
Policy and Strategy
Production and Operations Management
Degree track requiring some on-campus attendance:
Operations Research—Systems Modeling, Optimization and Stochastic Systems


View MS&E Certificates
If you want to update or refresh your skills in an area, or get a “first-taste” in a new discipline, SCPD offers graduate courses through the Non Degree Option (NDO). You may take individual courses or earn a graduate certificate through successful completion of three to five courses in:
