The IT Measurement and Benchmarking Certificate program is designed to teach an introduction
to benchmarking and how it is used in the IT organization. It also provides a detailed
presentation on how to implement measurement, benchmarking and portfolio management in your IT
organization. The program consists of five modules and a project, available online.

The certificate includes five modules and a project. Each module is available online and is self-paced. In order to
complete the certificate one must pass each exam with 100% accuracy
and complete a project.

This module provides an overview of benchmarking and how IT organizations have used it to gain a
better understanding of their practices and performance, and to better align with business goals. It
covers the basics of building an
IT baseline which is capturing the current state of IT via a set of detailed metrics.
- Implementing an IT Benchmarking Project Part 1
First part of a detailed presentation of how to implement a measurement and benchmarking project
around specific goals in an organization. How to identify and collect
appropriate metrics, where to obtain benchmark data, how to present results, and data analysis techniques.
- Implementing an IT Benchmarking Project Part 2
Second part of a detailed presentation of how to implement a measurement and benchmarking
project around specific goals in an organization. How to identify and collect appropriate metrics,
where to obtain benchmark data, how to present results, and data analysis techniques.
- Measuring the Value and Health of IT Projects and Applications
Presents how to incorporate a metrics approach from the very beginning of a
project from business case development through project execution and into production.
A detailed set of metrics representing business value and project health are defined
and captured throughout the life of a project or
application and made available via dashboard representation.
- IT Portfolio Management: Linking IT to Business Value
How to use data in order to prove the value of the IT organization within the enterprise.
Portfolio Management is introduced and basic techniques for getting started are presented.
Risk and return calculations, portfolio management systems, and dashboards are discussed.
- IT Benchmarking Project
Implement a small benchmarking project in your organization based on a set of benchmarks we have collected from companies
in various industries. Collect data within your organization to match these benchmarks. Analyze results
