After a year and a half as Distribution Coordinator for SCPD, Arzie Zaldivar has joined the Registration Staff as a Student Services Coordinator. Student Services Coordinators assure that the administrative process runs smoothly for every SCPD student, from registration for the first course through completion of a graduate degree. Though each coordinator works independently, Zaldivar agrees that the group functions as a team, with the united purpose of serving the needs of the individual students.
"Right now I deal mostly with the non-degree students, but I'm basically working on my own. It is not repetitious at all: every student and every situation is different."
As a distribution coordinator, Zaldivar had always liked the problem-solving aspect of her work the most. "There's much more problem-solving here, though. And I feel I get to meet more people-administrators at the member companies and students. There's variety, too, in what I'm learning: how SCPD works, new software programs. Every day there is something new."
When asked what she likes the most in this position Zaldivar says, "Aside from the people I work with? They're great. I have to say the same thing I said before. It just feels good to help people, and that really is what this job's about."
