Professional Education Student

More than fifty years ago, Frederick Terman, the 'Father of Silicon Valley' and former Dean of the School of Engineering, collaborated with industry leaders to inaugurate Stanford University's part-time graduate degree program to meet the continuing education needs of engineers, technology professionals, and managers in industry. His vision set the course for the Stanford Center for Professional Development to become one of the foremost organizations for professional development and distance learning.

In the past, industry professionals went to school. Today, our center brings the school to them, uncovering new avenues for knowledge transfer and delivering fresh, content-rich relevant coursework extracted directly from the Stanford faculty's research and teaching activities.

Your company membership in the Stanford Center for Professional Development initiates an educational partnership with Stanford and makes it possible for your best and brightest professionals to enroll in Stanford University courses and programs while maintaining full-time careers. The curriculum is drawn from the Stanford School of Engineering and other Stanford schools and can be delivered online, at Stanford's campus, or at company work sites.
