Please be advised that Stanford University tuition rates may change from year to year. We recommend you periodically review tuition rates prior to enrollment. All rates below are for tuition only and may not include course materials and fees.


Graduate Courses

Individual Courses for Credit

If you are a non-matriculated student taking individual graduate courses for credit, or towards earning a graduate certificate, the base tuition rate is $1,320/unit. If you are employed by a Stanford Center for Professional Development member company, have matriculated from Stanford University, or are on active duty in the United States Armed Forces, you receive a reduced rate of $1,120/unit. Individual courses typically range from 3-5 units. You may enroll in a maximum of two courses per quarter. Please reference the table at right to determine the tuition for the number of units for which you plan to enroll.

ADDITIONAL FEES

Transcript/Document Fee: A one-time fee of $100 is assessed the first time you enroll and provides transcripts for life.

Drop and late enrollment fees can be found in registration policies.

Auditing Individual Online Courses

Graduate courses offered online may be audited. As an auditor, you only have access to the online lectures. Course materials, homework, and interaction with instructors, teaching assistants, and other students are only available when you are enrolled for credit. Base tuition is $1,150/course. If you are employed by a Stanford Center for Professional Development member company, have matriculated from Stanford University, or are on active duty in the United States Armed Forces, you receive a reduced rate of $995/course.

Taking Courses Towards a Master's Degree

If you are admitted to pursue a master's degree, and are taking courses part-time through the Honors Cooperative Program, the base tuition rate effective Autumn 2012 is $1,340/unit. Individual courses typically range from 3-5 units, and you must enroll for a minimum of 3 units per quarter. Please reference the table at right to determine the tuition for the number of units for which you plan to enroll.

ADDITIONAL FEES

Associated Students of Stanford University (ASSU) Fee: each autumn, winter, or spring quarter you are enrolled, you will be assessed a $32 ASSU fee. There is no ASSU fee assessed in the summer quarter.

Transcript/Document Fee: A one-time fee of $100 is assessed the first time you enroll and provides transcripts for life. This fee does not apply if you have previously enrolled in individual graduate courses for credit under the Non Degree Option and paid the requisite document fee.

Professional Courses

Professional course pricing varies depending on the length of the course, materials provided, and whether or not there is a lab or group project, or if the course is part of a certificate program. For more detailed pricing and available discounts, please visit the course and/or certificate description.

Stanford campus pricing includes course instruction and 30-day access to the online version of each course (when available). For courses and programs held on campus, the Stanford Center for Professional Development provides course materials, continental breakfasts, lunches, parking, and an opening night reception. Hotel and transportation are not included. Please visit the Lodging Guide for hotel listings and price ranges. Stanford University Visitor Information is also a great source of information for visitors.

Online pricing includes 90-day access to course content, as well as e-mail access to a course instructor. Materials are available for download on the course homepage. Courses may be started at any time and are available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week via streaming video.

DISCOUNTS & ADDITONAL FEES

Groups of 5 or More: If you are employed by a Stanford Center for Professional Development member company, and/or you wish to enroll a group of 5 or more into the same course, please contact us for information about receiving a discount.

Early Registration Discount: A 10% discount is available for most courses taking place on the Stanford campus, when you enroll by the early registration deadline. Each course description will detail early-registration deadlines.

Professional Education Document Fee: A one-time $75 fee is charged upon enrollment in your first course associated with a professional certificate program. This fee covers life-time access to your record of completion (certified PDF), which can be requested at any time.

The record of completion PDF will be distributed via email upon completion of each professional course and contains your complete course history. The PDF is proof of course completion and can be used for reimbursement.

If Continuing Education Units (CEU's) are needed in order to maintain your yearly requirements for certain industry certifications or licensures, please call customer service at 650 204-3984. CEU transcripts are mailed by the Continuing Studies department and processing takes approximately 6 weeks from course completion.

We accept Visa, MasterCard, American Express, company checks, or cashier's checks. If you are employed by Stanford University, you may use your STAP funds as well.
