Graduate Courses
Taking Courses Towards a Master's Degree
If you are admitted to pursue a master's degree, and are taking courses part-time through the Honors Cooperative Program, the base tuition rate effective Autumn 2009 is $1,310/unit with reduced rates from 8-10 units. Individual courses typically range from 3-5 units, and you must enroll for a minimum of 3 units per quarter. Please reference the table at right to determine the tuition for the number of units for which you plan to enroll.
ADDITIONAL FEES
Associated Students of Stanford University (ASSU) Fee: each autumn, winter, or spring quarter you are enrolled, you will be assessed a $30 ASSU fee.
Transcript/Document Fee: A one-time fee of $80 is assessed the first time you enroll and provides transcripts for life.
Drop and late enrollment fees can be found in registration policies.

Individual Courses for Credit
If you are a non-matriculated student taking individual graduate courses for credit, or towards earning a graduate certificate, the base tuition rate is $1,300/unit. If you are employed by a Stanford Center for Professional Development member company, have matriculated from Stanford University, or are on active duty in the United States Armed Forces, you receive a reduced rate of $1,100/unit. Individual courses typically range from 3-5 units. You may enroll in a maximum of two courses per quarter. Please reference the table at right to determine the tuition for the number of units for which you plan to enroll.

Auditing Individual Online Courses
Graduate courses offered online may be audited. As an auditor, you only have access to the online lectures. Course materials, homework, and interaction with instructors, teaching assistants, and other students are only available when you are enrolled for credit. Base tuition is $1,150/course. If you are employed by a Stanford Center for Professional Development member company, have matriculated from Stanford University, or are on active duty in the United States Armed Forces, you receive a reduced rate of $995/course.
Professional Courses
Professional course pricing varies depending on the length of the course, materials provided, and whether or not there is a lab or group project, or if the course is part of a certificate program. For more detailed pricing and available discounts, please visit the course and/or certificate description.
Stanford campus pricing includes course materials, continental breakfasts and lunches, parking permits, an opening night reception, and 30-day access to the online version of each course (when available). Hotel and transportation are not included. Please visit Stanford Community Housing Services for hotel recommendations. The Stanford Visitors and Neighbors Guide is also a great source of information for visiting Stanford University.
Online pricing includes 90-day access to course content, as well as e-mail access to a course instructor. Materials are available for download on the course homepage. Courses may be started at any time and are available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week via streaming video.
DISCOUNTS & ADDITONAL FEES
Groups of 5 or More: If you are employed by a Stanford Center for Professional Development member company, and/or you wish to enroll a group of 5 or more into the same course, please contact us for information about receiving a discount.
Early Registration Discount: A 10% discount is available for most courses taking place on the Stanford campus, when you enroll by the early registration deadline. Each course description will detail early-registration deadlines.
Transcripts & Continuing Education Units: If you require a Stanford University transcript, please register for Continuing Education Units (CEU's) for $75/course (non-refundable). Transcripts are mailed by the Continuing Studies department and take approximately 6 weeks from course completion.
