Nanoscale Materials Science
A revolution in materials science and engineering is taking place as researchers find ways to pattern and characterize materials at the nanometer length scale. New materials with outstanding electrical, optical, magnetic and mechanical properties are rapidly being developed for use in information technology, bioengineering, and energy and environmental applications. By enrolling in this Non Degree Option (NDO) certificate program, you can learn how to use nanofabrication and nanocharacterization to make advanced materials and devices with desired properties
The program requires completion of three courses with a letter grade indicator of 3.0 or better. One course of the student's choice can be taken from outside the Materials Science and Engineering (MSE) Department

How to Enroll
Certificate seekers may begin the program in the autumn, winter or spring quarter under the Non Degree Option by completing an online enrollment application. First time students must also provide transcripts from all previous colleges and universities. Those who wish to update their skills and stay current in their field without seeking graduate credit may enroll under the Audit Option. Tuition information.
